On Saturday 14th March I helped organise an "Intercultural GAA Day" in partnership with Saint Peregrine's GAA club and the "Dublin 15 Cross Community Integration Group". The purpose of this initiative was to increase the involvement of New Communities in Gaelic Games (GAA) and to showcase traditional music, dancing, food of the various Immigrant and Irish cultures.
Here is a link to a promotional poster for the event:

The day was a great success with a good attendance. It started off with Irish Tricolour wearing drummers from Burundi who got the audience in the mood. There followed traditional music and dancers from Ireland, India, South Africa etc. There were also stalls serving a variety of foods from different countries which also proved immensely popular.
In addition to the above there was also a Gaelic football match between St Peregrines Social Team and my own Tyrrelstown team, which I am happy to say ended in victory for us here in Tyrrelstown.
A big thank you to all who helped organise the event with me and to all who turned up to make the day so successful.
